Does anyone know if its safe to use human shampoo on dogs to wash them?

If using human shampoo,Baby shampoo is best.It has a mild enough detergent that it wont dry out your dogs skin.Does anyone know if its safe to use human shampoo on dogs to wash them?
Yes, as long as you stay away from dandruff shampoos. Also, there may be an issue because human shampoos have strong perfumes that mask the odor of the dog. The other dogs that come in contact might be confused and become agressive (I've seen this happen).Does anyone know if its safe to use human shampoo on dogs to wash them?
Best to stick to a doggy shampoo, just because of the different skin pH. You risk drying your animals skin and some ingredients may be toxic.
use a cleaning shampoo, like Pregaine, or neutrogena.





there are special shampoos for dogs, but honestly its just marketing so you buy another one.

That depends on the dog. Some have really sensitive skin (like pomeranians) and need a specific kind of dog shampoo to keep their skin healthy. You should talk to a veterinarian or someone from a pet store
I used baby shampoo on mine, and she was fine. I was careful she didn't ingest it or get it in her eyes.
Yes I often used baby shampoo on mine . It is gentle and won't hurt their eyes if they should accdentally get some in there.

My dog has allergies so we have to be careful with what shampoo we use. Just to be on the safe side I would stick with dog shampoo.

use dawn liquid soap to bathe your dog with and it will kill any parasites that are on the dog. works great, i've been using it for years. and DON'T USE HUMAN SHAMPOO!!!

Yes its ok to use it on your animal. Just be sure to keep it away from getting inside his/hers ears and eyes and try not to use a color safe shampoo.
always diluted human shampoo with alot of water. detergent left on the hair will attract odors and cause itching. same with conditioner. i used to own a small animal grooming service
