Environmentally safe shampoo and soap?

Are any of the major brands, the ones you can find at Target and Wal-Mart, okay to use in rivers and lakes?

Is the only place to get these shampoos and soaps in specialty stores?

Thanks!Environmentally safe shampoo and soap?
You can get Tom's, it is an environmentally safe toiletries company. They have soap, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, and more. I have seen this at places like duane read and walgreens. I'm not sure they have it at walmart, but it is a fairly well priced and good brand.Environmentally safe shampoo and soap?
Oil based shampoo and detergents are the safest for the environment.

The products list all organic substances.

Percistant Organic Pollution has ingredients that do not break down. Lindane is an organic pollutant that has reached the Artic. It is a pesticide for head lice.
