there are dog shampoos that are made specifically for them so that they do not have skin irration from the human shampoo. dogs need different conditioning and nutrients than human hair, so i would not wash your dog with human shampoo because he will end up being miserable.

if im out of shampoo for dogs and my pooch needs a bath i usually rub hair conditioner (not alot) so her skin wont dry out...
yes it is okay, but i would recomend baby shampoo, or a soft shampoo like Down, and I would only wash your dog with this maybe once a week if that. I always washed my black lab with regular shampoo but we only washed him like once every three weeks, b/c too much washing drys out the skin and can be harmful. Dogs need that natural oil.
